Sometimes it is hard to hear the plain truths of the Scripture over the sound of our own ideas. We all have things that we want to be true, meanings that we import into our understanding of the Bible. We need to develop an honest relationship with God in which we are bold enough to lay open our hearts and motivations to Him. The book of Zechariah prophesies the truth about our lives. We are wrong – born into sin – we are against God, naturally. Thankfully, God is for us! God can save us from our own human nature, but we must begin our resistance to sin. We won’t always succeed, but our attitude needs to be against sin and toward God. God will help us to change. As we evaluate our lives we need to ask: Have we consistently changed our attitude? Do we really love the LORD?
