The last chapters of Ezekiel emphasize that God has a place for those who are faithful to Him! As Christians, the presence of God is with us in a special way, we are filled with the Spirit and are able to speak with God and have Him lead us as our Shepherd. Yet, in the future this will be done in a more real, physical way that we can perceive. God will dwell with us! In fact, the last words in the book of Ezekiel say, “…and the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE” (EZEKIEL 48:35). I don’t know when or exactly how this will happen, but I know that it will certainly happen! God has proven Himself and the Scriptures trustworthy. When we read prophecy like Ezekiel, especially difficult to understand prophecy, we should keep our minds open to God, while remembering His nature. He is good, He is righteous, He is merciful, He is loving! Prophecies about the end times are meant to encourage us not terrify us.
