The City of God; Isaiah 51-53

Jerusalem is mentioned more than any other city in the Bible. In the New Testament, the apostle John says that the New Jerusalem comes from God and descends to the new earth as the headquarters of God’s Kingdom. He writes, “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband” – REVELATION 21:1-2.
God has a long-term plan for the city of Jerusalem. But there is a New Jerusalem with God, and heaven will hold it until Jesus Christ rules the earth. This end of time place is described in the Bible.
