David’s call as king was to rule the nation of Israel, and to set the record straight for the future; priests and their successors had to be set up so that the Kingdom of God could continue. The record of their calling is recorded in 1 Chronicles 24.
These job descriptions are recorded in the Scriptures for practical use by ancient Israel and also perhaps for future use. Nations who identify themselves correctly now, as followers of God, will be involved in that future. True Christians are guaranteed a place in that future as seen in the New Testament book of Revelation. We should think carefully about the way we choose to live. Our lives are not to be lived with an earthly, temporal mindset, our lives are eternal. How we choose to live today determines the way we live in our future.
We are a family-run international ministry with television, print and online programs designed to guide you through the Bible in one year.
From social issues and apologetics to theology, history and science, our mission is to educate, edify and encourage the believer to actively engage with God’s Word in all ways.
