Daniel chapter seven is fascinating! In it we see God reveal to Daniel the reality behind the kingdoms of the earth. We know that kingdoms and nations are built by men to rule the earth, but God sees all, knows all, and ultimately is in control. The first kingdom Daniel sees was like a lion bearing the power of the world, with wings like an eagle able to dominate the world. The second was a beast like a bear, big and strong, raised up on one side and able to devour its enemies. The third was like a leopard with four wings on its back, able to travel and with four heads symbolizing leadership. The fourth beast was unlike the others, with huge iron teeth, able to devour anyone who came in its path. This beast had ten horns, or symbols of authority. While Daniel was considering the horns, a little horn came up among them who spoke with pompous words. The first beast seems to represent Babylon; the second, the Medo-Persian Empire; the third, the Greek Empire; the fourth, the Romans. Then we see the Ancient of Days seated and set up for judgment.

Hosea; Hosea 1-4

The Fall; Hosea 5-7
Hosea is a hard book to read. Hosea had to deal with the difficult realities of his own life while demonstrating the very similar situation between God and the nation of Israel. It always strikes me here that the Bible is clearly not a book of propaganda for Israel. If it is, it is a really bad o...
