Though the Bible was written to and written by ancient Israelites, it contains messages meant to instruct all of mankind. Sometimes it recorded directed messages to the pagan nations that surrounded Israel and had dealings with her. This was certainly the case for the Biblical prophet Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 30 he records for us a message against ancient Egypt. These types of judgments are always given in response to ignoring God’s laws and warnings. Like many of the other nations surrounding Israel, Egypt had ignored God and been a stronghold of false worship. This is important for us to remember because God loves all people on this earth; He gives us all our best chance of finding Him, yet also lets us reject Him. Satan works to destroy the image of God in the minds of people, and when we submit ourselves to evil, we become blind and hardened.

The New Temple; Ezekiel 42-44
