Some of the big questions that have confronted every curious thinker for thousands of years are about how the universe came into being and what, or Who, keeps everything in its place? Most big thinkers have seen God as the source of all things. But in the last three hundred years, some philosophers and scientists have worked extensively on the idea that life and matter came into existence on its own––no God needed. Granted, it is difficult, if not, impossible to conceive of how God can do all these amazing things, from creating space and time to keeping everything in motion and in synchronization. But the truth of something is not predicated on our understanding of it. We are finite created beings, after all. Truth is eternal by definition––that is why God is truth. Truth will always be truth, no matter the circumstances. So, what happens when an all-powerful
eternal God, who is greater than the created material universe, speaks through space and time? Job says that the LORD can be heard in the softest of whispers, yet His thunderous power is beyond comprehension. This is when Job begins to recognize the inconceivably profound power of God.
